Wound dust first aid powder
Along with the lichen folk spray, and the Wildwood salve, this wound powder rounds out the trio of plant first aid go too’s for our house hold. We spend a lot of time in the forest, a lot of time camping off the land, and that means that we are often faced with cuts and scrapes, burns bruises you name it. It’s vital for us to have a comprehensive first aid kit, and a part of that kit is plant medicines. We rely on these medicines far more than we do over-the-counter ointment and sprays, as our experience has really shown their efficacy, much more valuable than petroleum and chemical based products.
This wound powder which is made of finally ground Yarrow, Oregon grape root and plantain it’s really excellent and helping stop infection and bleeding in its tracks. I’ll use this for the whole family, including our animals, after cleaning a wound to help fight infection. Sometimes I’ll parrot with a salve sometimes I just use it straight up and cover with a bandaid. What I love about it is it’s compact easy to carry, and very effective.
