Milla Kotimaa Prince
Folk Herbalist
I’m a Finnish and Palestinian writer, folk herbalist and organizer. I grew up in the endless boreal forests of Eastern Finland, about two hundred miles from the Arctic Circle, and a hundred miles from the Russian border. My work as a writer and folk herbalist is grounded in my people’s ancestral folk medicine and my culture’s surviving land-based practices. I am also a student of my paternal side’s Palestinian medicine, and love exploring both the striking differences and surprising similarities of the two cultures.
Among my many passions are connecting people with their own ancestral folk lineages with plants and writing about the intersections of old ways, ancient practices and the modern world. Through my work, I hope to share plant medicine, ancestral herbalism, community resilience, reciprocity, land-based healing, animism and folk magic for the wild and wooly times we live in.
The focus of my client practice is on vibrational medicines, trauma integration and anxiety relief, and mutual aid and accessibility in herbal medicine.

Callie Blue Heron North
Folk Herbalist & Owner
I am a bio-regional seasonal folk herbalist, multi-creative artist, teacher and mother who draws inspiration from the land and sea. I was born and raised on Lopez Island in the Pacific Northwest (Coast Salish Lands) and spent my formative years exploring the forests and waters of my surrounding home.
In 2016, shortly after founding Northsea Apothecary (originally called Pachamama Apothecary) I spent 72 days self-documenting a winter season living off the land for the third season of History Channel’s Alone show. This experience profoundly impacted and shaped every aspect of my life moving forward.
The Apothecary has been my greatest teacher in Herbal Medicine and has allowed me to connect with thousands of people over the years. I feel privileged to hear their own health journeys and find ways to support them in the healing process.
My partner and I live off-grid on the mossy bedrock of our beautiful forest land, alongside a pond and seasonal creeks. We are surrounded by a community of trees, otters, redwing blackbirds and deer with our happy daughter River Selkie, and two beloved dogs, Juniper and Kiva.
